History
We are located at the corner of Main Street & Sun Valley Road, the main intersection, right in the center of town. There has been a prominent building in this location since the late 1800’s, the oldest we know of being the Palace Hotel, built just before the turn of the century. Following that this spot has been home to many diverse businesses. For a long time, from the 1940’s through the 1970’s this prominent street corner was home to the legendary “Slavey’s Saloon”. Local lore has it that then mayor of Ketchum, Ted Weary, who’s nickname was “Slavey”, won the bar in a poker game, and he and his family then presided over some truly wild times here for several decades. The place changed hands on several occasions during the eighties and nineties, until we settled in to this landmark in 1997. The Roosevelt Grille has been an important part of Sun Valley life ever since.
